Lampshades

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14–16
Light was never created to be concealed. It is meant to be seen, to reach outward, to illuminate everything around it. Yet the way it is carried matters. A lampshade does not diminish the light’s purpose; it refines it, softens it, and makes it something we can truly receive. In the same way, God’s truth within us is not meant to be hidden, but shared in a way that draws others in.
Still, the lampshade is never the source of the light. It simply surrounds it, holds it, and carries it. As we are reminded in 2 Corinthians 4:7, “We have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.” Like a shade around a bulb, we are not the origin of what shines; we are vessels chosen to hold something far greater than ourselves. The beauty is not in claiming the light, but in carrying it faithfully.
For this reason, there is also a gentle, unseen work taking place, a work of protection. A lampshade shields the bulb, guarding it and softening anything too harsh or overwhelming. We are reminded in 2 Timothy 1:14: “Guard the good deposit entrusted to you.” This kind of protection is not about control, but about care, holding fast to what God has entrusted to us so that it is not distorted, dimmed, or lost.

It is from this place that the collection begins.

Each lampshade in this collection tells a story, rooted in Scripture and carried into everyday life. Whether depicting the return of the prodigal son, to Jonah in the depths, or the woman at the well, each piece reflects a moment where God’s presence meets someone right where they are. These are stories of redemption, pursuit, identity, and transformation, moments in which light breaks into darkness and changes everything it touches. Just as a lampshade softens and spreads light, these stories are meant to gently fill the spaces around us, drawing us closer to Him and reminding us of the light we are called to guard and share.
